The Fairmont Acapulco Princess is a resort hotel owned by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, located in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico. The hotel features eight tennis courts, including a 6,000-seat stadium court. It is the host of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel, an annual event on the ATP Tour and the WTA Tour.
Mentioning The Fairmont Acapulco Princess is to think of an Acapulco icon; designed in 1971 by William Rudolph and Leonides Guadarrama, as an ancient Aztec pyramid just a few meters away from The Fairmont Pierre Marques, the original name before was Olinyala Princesa. First two dazzling white towers raised from over 200 acres (0.81 km2) of meticulously manicured gardens; in the summer of 1982 the third tower was added.
The Acapulco luxury hotel was the latest enterprise of one of the world's largest and least known business empires owned by Daniel K. Ludwig. Vigorous and alert at 75, Ludwig, from his office in a skyscraper at the north end of Rockefeller Center, decided that Acapulco was the perfect spot for his adventure. Princess Hotels would manage and operate his new masterpiece.
In 1998 Canadian Pacific Hotels purchased the sun-destination Princess Hotels situated in Mexico, Arizona, Bermuda and Barbados; and during October 1999 the administrators of the legendary company signed a fusion agreement with Fairmont Hotels, creating the company Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. This union brought together over a century of rich history and exemplary hospitality.
The Fairmont Acapulco Princess luxury hotel sits on over 161 acres (0.65 km2) of lush gardens with palms framing the view of the Sierra Madre in the beautiful Acapulco Diamante area. Built in the form of an ancient Aztec pyramid, the hotel contains 1,017 exquisite rooms, offering spacious bathrooms, large walk-in closets and separate dressing rooms.
The resort also features four freshwater pools with waterfalls and one saltwater pool - all overlooking Revolcadero Beach. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, a championship golf course, and eight outdoor and two indoor tennis courts.
